The Ministry of Mines has verified and approved the new mining license decree.
Kodal Minerals PLC stated that the mining license application for the Bougouni lithium project, in southern Mali, is nearing completion and that everything is moving as planned.
The Ministry of Mines, Energy and Water has forwarded the application to the Secretary General’s Office for final review before being presented at the Conseil des Minstres, which is the last stage before the signing of the license.
This is the final stage prior to the signing of the Mining Licence and Kodal is informed that all is progressing as expected
Kodal also revealed the results from aircore drilling at Nielle’s gold concession in the northern Ivory Coast. These results showed a 4.5km trend of gold mineralisation with extensions stretching up to 1.5km south, and more than 1km north.
The drilling revealed significant results, including 2 meters at 675 parts/billion (ppb), 1 metre @ 1140ppb and 6 metres at 244ppb. It was noted that 100ppb of gold equals 0.01 grammes per tonne.
Chief executive Bernard Aylward stated that “our first gold exploration drilling campaign at Nielle concession was very successful.”
“As we previously reported, the reverse circulation drilling produced high-grade gold mineralisation. Now our reconnaissance aircore drilling shows major strike extensions and additional parallel zones.
“This aircore drilling was spread out, but the tenor for gold anomalism returned is consistent with the original drilling that found the Nielle gold mineralised area.
He concluded that further exploration drilling would be done later in the year to determine the maiden mineral resources estimate.
