Kendrick Resources Plc (LON: KEN) has commenced metallurgical test work on mineralisation from its Teufelskuppe rare earth project, marking another step towards defining a potential processing route for the asset.
The company has appointed German consultancy Anzaplan, part of the Dorfner Group, to carry out early-stage assessment and Mineral Liberation Analysis focused on the recovery of light rare earth oxides.
Three bulk samples are being sent for analysis, representing the principal mineralised styles found at Teufelskuppe, including dykes, sills and breccia from across the carbonatite complex.
Anzaplan has also been provided with Kendrick’s detailed independent petrological work to support the study.
The initial programme is intended to establish how the rare earth minerals occur within the rock and how effectively they can be liberated during processing. The results will then guide further optimisation work and the eventual development of a metallurgical flowsheet.
Colin Bird, Chairman of Kendrick Resources, commented: “We are very pleased to be working with Anzaplan, and we look forward to the results of the Mineral Liberation Analysis study. Once completed, this work will provide Anzaplan with the information required for further detailed studies and optimisation leading to the development of a flow sheet. The Company will update shareholders as information becomes available.”
