Helium One Global (AIM: HE1), the primary helium explorer in Tanzania today announces that Ian Stalker (72) has decided to step down from his position as Non-Executive Chairman after five years in the post to reduce the number of his non-executive roles. James Smith, currently Non-Executive Director of Helium One, is to be appointed as Chairman with immediate effect.
James is an experienced Director with over 35 years of experience in the natural resources sector. He has extensive expertise in the oil and gas industry having held a number of senior positions at Chevron Corporation, PanOcean Energy and also VP Exploration at Tanzanian focussed Orca Exploration. James has been a member of the Board of Helium One since listing in December 2020.
During Ian’s tenure as Chairman, he has overseen a period of significant achievement, from the Company’s successful listing on AIM to the maiden drilling programme at Rukwa, as well as guiding the Company ahead of their second drilling campaign in Rukwa in September.
