Hargreaves Lansdown PLC (LON:HL.) fourth-quarter trading update

Wealth platform Hargreaves Lansdown PLC (LSE: HL.) has released its fourth-quarter trading update, notably omitting any reference to the controversial takeover bid from private equity firm CVC Partners.

CVC has proposed a £5.3 billion acquisition of the company. Although the board is considering the offer, some shareholders have criticized it as undervaluing the company, deeming it unfair to smaller investors.

In today’s update, Hargreaves Lansdown focused on the numbers, reporting stronger share-dealing volumes and a record £155.3 billion in assets under management.

Similarly, competitor AJ Bell noted its highest share-dealing volumes in its Thursday update.

Hargreaves Lansdown added 24,000 new clients during the quarter, spread across its SIPP, ISA, and Active Savings products.

“Our ongoing focus on client service, client experience, and value continues to deliver results, with a client NPS of 44 for the second half of the year, up from 41 in the first half,” said Hargreaves’ chief executive Dan Olly.
