Great Southern Copper (LON: GSCU) CEO Sam Garrett sat down with Andrew Scott to reflect on a career spanning more than 30 years in mineral exploration, from growing up around volcanoes and prospecting in Papua New Guinea to working across major copper and gold districts around the world.
Sam discusses the discoveries and experiences that shaped him as a geologist, why persistence and critical thinking matter in exploration, and why he believes juniors need to “lead with drilling as fast as we can and get some answers.”
Bringing it back to GSC, Sam sums up the opportunity in three words: “Scale. Location. Opportunity.”
He says the company has the chance to find “big porphyry copper deposits” and adds that the setting at Especularita still makes “the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.”
