Georgina Energy PLC has provided an operational update on preparations for drilling at its Hussar prospect within the EP513 licence.
The company said its technical consultants have now begun issuing requests for quotations (RFQs) for the planned drilling programme. Early indications suggest that the Explorer Rig is technically suitable for the campaign and could potentially be available from 25 February 2026.
Georgina representatives are scheduled to carry out site inspections on 12 February 2026, focusing on the key workstreams required ahead of drilling. These include:
-
airstrip repair work
-
road access upgrades
-
drilling pad preparation
These infrastructure elements are considered essential before drilling can commence to test the Townsend Formation and underlying fractured basement lithologies.
Importantly, the drilling programme and associated site works are expected to be funded on a non-dilutive basis through Harlequin and its partners, via a structured offtake funding arrangement.
Anthony Hamilton, Chief Executive Officer of Georgina Energy, commented:
“We’re pleased to be progressing rig selection for drilling and will be conducting a site inspection from 12th February. The site and access works planned are designed to best prepare us for drilling in Q3, 2026. Georgina and Harlequin have worked hard to structure this agreement to minimise exposure to significant capital outlay and therefore reduce dilution risk for shareholders.”
