**The FTSE 100 climbed 66 points, or 0.6%, to 10,702 on Wednesday morning**, extending its advance after the opening bell and recovering from Tuesday’s decline.

Mining stocks led the move, with **Rio Tinto up 1.9% and Antofagasta gaining 1.6%** as investors returned to the sector following the previous session’s weakness.

Gold’s overnight recovery also supported precious-metals producers, with **Endeavour Mining rising 1.6% and Fresnillo adding 1.5%**.

The advance extended beyond resources. **InterContinental Hotels Group gained 1.8%, SSE rose 1.6%, while Airtel Africa and Whitbread both advanced 1.4%**.

The broader London market was also firmer, with the **FTSE 250 up 0.4% to 24,470 and the FTSE 350 gaining 0.6%**.

The FTSE All-Share rose 0.6%, while the AIM All-Share added 0.2%.

For investors, the early session points to a **broad-based rebound rather than a purely mining-driven move**, although resources remain the strongest source of support for the FTSE 100.

**Investor takeaway: ***The FTSE 100 rebounded 0.6% to 10,702 in early Wednesday trading, with mining and precious-metals stocks leading the recovery. Gains were broad across the London market, suggesting the move extended beyond a narrow resources bounce.*
