London’s **FTSE 100 extended its losing streak to six sessions on Monday**, falling **0.3% to 10,720.30**, its lowest close in more than three weeks.

The **FTSE 250 dropped 0.7% to 24,704.40**, marking its sharpest percentage fall in more than three weeks.

Consumer-facing sectors led the decline, with personal goods, beverages, personal care and grocery-related stocks among the weakest areas of the market.

Geopolitical uncertainty remained a key concern after **US President Donald Trump said Iran should surrender to end the conflict**, while Tehran warned it could escalate tensions around the Strait of Hormuz if diplomacy fails.

Brent crude edged **0.5% higher to around $89.02 a barrel**, with investors increasingly watching the risk of oil moving back towards $100 if the conflict remains unresolved.

UK economic data will also move into focus, with **labour-market figures due Tuesday and inflation data on Wednesday**, both likely to influence expectations for the Bank of England.

Mining stocks helped limit the FTSE 100’s losses as precious and industrial metals strengthened. **Anglo American gained 2.0%, Fresnillo rose 1.6%, Rio Tinto added 1.0% and Glencore advanced 0.9%**.

**AstraZeneca rose 0.9%** following positive trial updates, while **Rolls-Royce gained 1.5%** after Morgan Stanley and Citigroup increased their price targets.

The six-session decline leaves the FTSE 100 under continued pressure from geopolitical risk, energy prices and growing caution around the outlook for UK consumers and interest rates.
