DST to be conducted over potential oil zone in the Wilson River-1 well

Empyrean Energy plc, the oil and gas development company with interests in Australia, Indonesia and the United States, is pleased to announce the following update on the Wilson River-1 well:

The JV partners in The Wilson River-1 have decided to conduct a Drill Stem Test (“DST”) over the potential oil zone identified from analysis of logs and hydrocarbon shows from the well. The JV is currently refining the testing and completion options and getting quotes to carry out the work.

The testing program is currently on schedule to commence during late April. Following the results of the testing program the JV will consider an extended production test.

Other potential zones of interest are still having petrophysical analysis completed along with comparison to producing wells in the region where data is available.

Empyrean CEO, Tom Kelly, stated: “Whilst the testing program is being refined, we are pleased to say that the main potential oil zone will be tested by DST as soon as is practicable. We look forward to providing shareholders with further updates as our plans progress”.

The information contained in this announcement has been reviewed by Empyrean’s Technical director, Gaz Bisht, who has over 35 years’ experience as a hydrocarbon geologist and geoscientist.
