[ECR Minerals (AIM: ECR)](https://www.investegate.co.uk/announcement/rns/ecr-minerals--ecr/new-soil-results-expand-gold-target-at-lolworth-/9761821) has reported encouraging new soil sampling results from its 100%-owned Lolworth Project in North Queensland, with the latest data pointing towards a potentially much broader gold-bearing structural system than previously identified.

The results provide further evidence that gold mineralisation identified through earlier surface exploration and ECR’s maiden drilling programme could extend significantly beyond the areas tested to date.

### Highlights

- **31 soil samples returned gold values of 100 parts per billion (ppb) or greater**, with a peak result of **608 ppb gold**.

- Results support the interpretation of a **broader north-north-west (NNW) trending gold-bearing structural system** extending beyond ECR’s maiden drilling area.

- A **second parallel gold trend** has been identified to the north-east of the Uncle Terry prospect.

- Previous drilling confirmed shallow gold and silver mineralisation, including **2 metres at 3.57 g/t gold** and **4 metres at 7.18 g/t silver**.

- The latest results strengthen the case for a **broader diamond core drilling programme** targeting the structures at depth and across their interpreted width.

- The principal gold trend could potentially extend south towards similarly orientated structures at **Gorge Creek West**.

ECR has now received the remaining 1,002 assay results from a wider programme of approximately 1,500 soil samples collected across the Uncle Terry area.

The programme was designed to test for gold and associated pathfinder elements while investigating whether geological structures previously interpreted through field mapping and rock-chip sampling could be traced beneath areas of surface cover.

This is particularly important at Uncle Terry, where high grass can obscure the ground for significant periods of the year and make conventional surface mapping difficult.

Of the latest samples, 31 returned values of at least 100 ppb gold, which ECR’s geological team considers a strong anomaly. The highest result was 608 ppb gold.

### Geological model strengthens

The results have allowed ECR to refine its interpretation of the geology at Uncle Terry.

The principal NNW-trending structure is now interpreted as gold-bearing, while north-east trending shear structures show a stronger relationship with silver mineralisation.

Importantly, ECR’s initial reverse circulation drilling was largely focused on the north-east structures, meaning the principal NNW gold trend has not yet been comprehensively drill tested.

Soil sampling has also identified a second parallel NNW-trending gold anomaly to the north-east, in an area where previous mapping identified gold-bearing quartz stringer veins.

ECR believes the principal structure could potentially continue south towards similarly orientated structures at Gorge Creek West, raising the possibility of a substantially broader mineralised system.

### Previous drilling confirmed shallow mineralisation

ECR completed its maiden drilling programme at Lolworth during 2025, drilling 28 reverse circulation holes for a combined 1,058 metres across Uncle Terry and Gorge Creek West.

Notable gold intersections included **2m at 3.57 g/t gold from 14m** at Uncle Terry, **1m at 2.04 g/t gold from 21m** at Gorge Creek West and **5m at 0.47 g/t gold from 14m** at Gorge Creek West.

Silver results included **4m at 7.18 g/t silver from 33m**, **1m at 15.0 g/t silver from 11m** and **1m at 10.1 g/t silver from 14m** at Uncle Terry.

Those results established the presence of a shallow gold-silver mineralised system, while the latest soil programme suggests the structural extent of the gold component could be considerably larger than the area covered by the initial drilling.

### Diamond drilling could be next

ECR’s geological team will now incorporate the soil geochemistry into its existing structural model covering Uncle Terry and Gorge Creek West.

The company believes the results justify a broader diamond core drilling programme designed to test the principal NNW gold structure, the newly identified parallel trend, the relationship between gold and silver-bearing structures and the potential continuation towards Gorge Creek West.

Further details will be announced as exploration planning progresses.

**ECR Chief Geologist Adam Jones commented:**

“These results significantly strengthen our understanding of the gold system at Uncle Terry. Our initial drilling in 2025 confirmed shallow gold and silver mineralisation, and the latest soil results now indicate a broader NNW-trending gold structure as well as a second parallel gold trend to the north-east.

“Importantly, these structures have not yet been fully tested by drilling. The next step would be a broader diamond core drilling programme to test the gold system at depth and across its interpreted width, including its potential continuation towards Gorge Creek West.”

**ECR Chairman Nick Tulloch said** the results suggest the gold component of the Lolworth system could be considerably broader than originally thought.

He highlighted the identification of two NNW-trending gold anomalies alongside the previously established silver-bearing structures as providing ECR with a stronger geological framework for future exploration.

Lolworth covers approximately **946 square kilometres**, making it one of the largest exploration opportunities within ECR’s portfolio.
