**Wall Street opened higher on Wednesday**, with optimism over the **imminent reopening of the U.S. government** pushing major indexes to fresh record levels.

The **Dow Jones Industrial Average** climbed **87.8 points, or 0.18%**, at the open to reach a **record high of 48,015.79**. The **S&P 500** rose **0.3%**, while the **tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite** advanced **0.4%**, extending this week’s rally in risk assets.

**Chipmaker AMD** led early gains, **surging more than 8%**, just as **CEO Lisa Su** celebrated the company’s momentum by **ringing the Nasdaq opening bell**.
