UK fuel prices have continued to climb, with diesel now exceeding 190p per litre as higher oil costs feed through to consumers.
According to the RAC, diesel has reached 190.62p per litre on average, while unleaded petrol stands at 157.71p. Prices at motorway service stations have risen even further, with diesel exceeding £2 per litre in some locations.
Oil markets remain firm, with Brent crude trading at around $97.50 per barrel amid ongoing uncertainty over the durability of Donald Trump’s ceasefire agreement with Iran.
Susannah Streeter, chief investment strategist at Wealth Club, said rising oil prices are adding to financial pressure on households, particularly motorists. Diesel has increased by as much as 50p per litre in some areas since the conflict began, while petrol is up around 30p.
She added that while a sustained ceasefire could ease prices, continued geopolitical fragility is likely to keep fuel costs volatile in the weeks ahead.
