**Commuter Misery: Tube Strikes Begin as TfL Website Crashes**

Commuters faced **major disruption** this morning as **Transport for London’s website crashed** on the **first day of a week-long tube strike**.

Those trying to[check updates on specific lines](https://www.share-talk.com/london-underground-walkouts-this-september-full-strike-dates-and-line-disruptions/) during the **five-day strike by the RMT union** were met with an **“internal service error”** message. While the issue has since been resolved, **TfL’s journey planner remains down**, adding to commuter frustration.

The strike action, involving **around 10,000 RMT members**, will result in **almost no tube trains running until Friday**, with knock-on effects expected across the capital as **buses and rail services become overcrowded**.

The RMT union has **rejected calls to call off the strike**, continuing to push for a **shorter working week as part of pay negotiations**.

Other London transport services, including the **Elizabeth line**, **London Overground**, and **National Rail services**, will continue to operate, though **some central stations with tube interchanges will be closed**.
