By 2030, the price of a pint during football matches could exceed £13, according to recent findings.
At Arsenal FC’s Emirates Stadium and West Ham Utd’s London Stadium, the price for a pint is projected to reach £13.12 in 2030, based on the average alcohol inflation rate of 9.6% recorded in December.
The average cost of a pint at Premier League games is anticipated to increase from the current £4.60 to £9.57 over the next six years, escalating at an annual rate of 62p.
A notable disparity exists in beer prices between clubs in London and those in the north.
Currently, some of the most affordable options are found at Manchester United’s Old Trafford and Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane, where pints are priced at £3.
However, by 2030, these venues are expected to charge £6.25 per pint.
This rate is still lower than the current £6.30 price for a pint at both Arsenal and West Ham.
In London, the average cost of a draught beer at a game is predicted to surpass £10 by 2029, reaching £11.27 the following year.
Outside London, the price is expected to be £8.48, as per the research conducted by football shirt retailer UKSoccerShop.
A UKSoccerShop spokesperson commented, “With the ongoing ‘drinkflation’ and the cost of living crisis impacting UK households, hospitality services are grappling with rising costs, leading some to offer weaker beer. This trend is likely to extend to our stadiums as well.”
