Brockham well commences- RIG working on the BR-X4Z well

Surrey oil site get’s final approvals & drilling has commenced

Angus Energy(LON:ANGS) operator commence work on the BR-X4Z well on UK onshore Production Licence PL 235. The rig is now on site and has started work on the approved program.

The company said in a statement it had received approvals from the Oil and Gas Authority and the Health and Safety Executive to start operations on the well, to be called BR-X4Z.

The news flow is coming thick and fast with another RNS last Friday stating LON:ANGS Increases interest in Brockham oil field to 65% and acquires Lidsey Option

In drilling the side-track at Brockham, Angus will drill the Portland sandstone zone, host to a known oil play that is already generating 35 barrels a day. The Kimmeridge is the main target to prove on Brockham and this will only increase interest for all companies operating in the weald basin if successful.

If the geological structure replicates the well only 4 miles away at Gatwick (Horse Hill-1) that produced 1,688 barrels results on a restricted flow rates test through 1″ and 1/2″ chokes, this could politically change the land scape for the UK as a oil producer.

Land crude production is financially cost effective and you only have to look at the Wytch Farm oil field, located 17 miles from Poole and six miles from Wareham in the Purbeck district, Dorset, England, today it is the biggest onshore oil field in Europe. But if we go back to the early days,  Wytch Farm oil field produced around 660 barrels a day.

This was posted on the 16th December to one of the Share Talk team, Mr Lenigas along with Doriemus PLC (LON:DOR) owns a 10% direct interest in the Brockham Oil Field which is held under UK Production Licence PL 235.

Social media was a light over the weekend with twitter account containing images and YouTube footage of  the work over rig  on the BR-X4Z well.

Share Talk 16th December 2016 update : Brockham side track well – commence work on the BR-X4Z well

Footage of BR-X4Z well operational on site, looking at the video you can see what looks like sections of stacked drill pipe’s and they look to be cleaning the well ready to drill.

Angus Energy the operator could be looking at a time frame of only around 3-5 day drill with the well already cased, the first target zone being so shallow.
We are hearing new concrete foundations have been poured so it is looking more likely a new foundation/pad is being used for the drill rig on site.
