Breaking: The Associated Press cites US intelligence: “Russian missiles fell on Polish territory”

A Russian missile attack on Ukraine’s power grid caused the conflict to spill over into neighbouring countries Tuesday. It hit NATO member Poland and cut electricity to large parts of Moldova.

According to a U.S. official, it was Russia’s largest barrage yet. Some of the missiles also crossed into Poland where they killed two people. This was the first time that Russian weapons had been dropped on a NATO country in wartime.

Piotr Müller, a Polish government spokesperson, did not immediately confirm information from a senior U.S intelligence official. He spoke under condition of anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the situation. Mueller stated that top leaders were meeting in an emergency meeting because of a “crisis.”

Polish media reported Tuesday afternoon that two people were killed when a projectile hit an area of grain drying in Przewodow near the Ukrainian border.

Neighboring Moldova was also affected. An official stated that the strike knocked out the key power line which supplies the tiny nation.

Zelenskyy claimed that Russia launched at least 85 missiles. Most of these were aimed at Russia’s power plants and blacked out many other cities.
