Police Scotland has detained a 58-year-old man and conducted searches at multiple addresses.\n\nhttps://twitter.com/Share_Talk/status/1643549779207630851?s=20\n\nThe man is currently in custody and is being questioned by detectives. The police will send a report to the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service. Detectives have sealed off Mr Murrell’s Glasgow residence, where they have erected a police evidence tent.\n\nThe SNP stated that it would not be suitable to comment on an ongoing police investigation. However, the party confirmed that it has been fully cooperating with the inquiry and will continue to do so. The party’s governing body, the NEC, recently agreed to conduct a review of governance and transparency, which will be implemented in the following weeks.\n\nDuring the recent leadership campaign, 58-year-old Mr Murrell resigned from his position as the chief executive of the SNP. Police have been probing the use of funds intended for Scottish independence campaigning. Mr Murrell and Ms Sturgeon tied the knot in 2010."}
