Blencowe Resources Hails ‘Excellent’ Drilling Results at Orom-Cross Graphite Project

Blencowe Resources PLC (LSE: BRES) has reported outstanding results from its largest drilling campaign to date at the Orom-Cross graphite project in Uganda, with chairman Cameron Pearce calling the outcome “excellent.”

The Stage 7 programme involved 6,750 metres of drilling across 239 holes, targeting geotechnical studies, resource upgrades, and exploration of new zones. The company said the data confirmed both the scale and high quality of the deposit, moving Orom-Cross significantly closer to completing its Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS).

Notably, drilling uncovered consistent graphite mineralisation in all holes, including at a newly discovered zone named Beehive, located 3km from current deposits. Deeper drilling at Beehive and the Northern Syncline also confirmed mineralisation extending beyond 100 metres—three times deeper than previous campaigns—with every hole ending in ore.

The results will support a planned upgrade to the existing 24.5 million tonne JORC resource, aiming to convert more of it to Measured status. An updated resource estimate is expected soon.

Additionally, the campaign helps fulfil criteria for a US$5 million technical grant from the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation.

Blencowe highlighted that the Beehive zone could match or exceed existing tonnage estimates, potentially boosting the project’s scale, mine life, and processing capacity.

The company continues to produce high-grade graphite, with concentrate grades of 96–97% and purification levels reaching up to 99.99% total graphite content.

Chairman Pearce said the findings confirm Orom-Cross as a potential “tier one graphite asset.”

“We achieved all our objectives—gathering vital geotechnical data, upgrading resources, extending known deposits, and making a new discovery,” he said. “The focus now shifts to incorporating these results into our DFS to showcase the full commercial potential of Orom-Cross within the global graphite supply chain.”
