Avacta to present cancer trial survival data and AVA6103 study design at ESMO 2026

Avacta Therapeutics (AIM: AVCT) will present updated clinical data from its Faridoxorubicin (AVA6000) cancer programme and details of its AVA6103 trial at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress in Madrid later this month.

The life sciences company confirmed that two poster presentations will feature at the congress, taking place from 23 to 27 October 2026, highlighting progress across its targeted oncology drug pipeline.

On 26 October, Avacta will present progression-free survival (PFS) data from patients with salivary gland cancer enrolled in the expansion cohort of its ongoing Phase 1a/1b trial of Faridoxorubicin (AVA6000).

The presentation will also include FAPI-PET imaging data, providing further insight into the treatment’s activity in patients with Fibroblast Activation Protein (FAP)-positive solid tumours.

AVA6000 uses Avacta’s proprietary pre|CISION technology to deliver the chemotherapy drug doxorubicin more selectively within the tumour microenvironment, with the aim of reducing exposure to healthy tissues.

Progression-free survival measures the length of time patients remain alive without their cancer worsening, making the forthcoming results an important indicator of the treatment’s potential clinical benefit.

Avacta will also present the design of its Phase 1 FOCUS-01 trial of AVA6103, alongside updated preclinical findings.

AVA6103 is a FAP-targeted peptide-drug conjugate designed to release exatecan, a potent chemotherapy agent, within the tumour microenvironment. The FOCUS-01 study will evaluate the treatment in patients with FAP-positive solid tumours.

The AVA6000 presentation, poster 1549P, is scheduled for 26 October between 12:00 and 12:45 CET, while the AVA6103 trial design will feature in electronic poster 1134eTiP.

Investors will be watching the AVA6000 survival findings closely, as the data could provide further evidence of the treatment’s clinical potential in salivary gland cancer.

The presentations represent another development milestone for Avacta as it advances its oncology pipeline, although the company has yet to disclose the updated survival results ahead of the congress.

About Avacta – https://avacta.com/

Avacta Therapeutics is a clinical-stage life sciences company expanding the reach of highly potent cancer therapies through its proprietary pre|CISION® platform. pre|CISION® is a payload delivery system based on a tumor-specific protease (Fibroblast Activation Protein or FAP) that is designed to concentrate highly potent payloads in the tumor microenvironment while sparing normal tissues. Avacta’s innovative pre|CISION® peptide drug conjugates (PDC) are a novel entry to the XDC drug class, leveraging the success of antibody drug conjugates with alternative methods of delivery beyond antibodies.

Our pre|CISION® PDCs leverage this tumor-specific release mechanism in a small molecule format to provide unique benefits over traditional antibody drug conjugates (ADC), releasing active payload in the tumor and reducing systemic exposure and toxicity which enables dosing to be optimized to deliver the best outcomes for patients. The lead clinical program is AVA6103, a Next Generation FAP-enabled controlled release pre|CISION® version of exatecan that delivers the payload directly in the tumor with limited peripheral blood exposure and is currently in clinical development as a treatment for tumor types sensitive to exatecan including cervical cancer, HR+ breast cancer, small cell lung cancer, gastric cancer, colorectal cancer and pancreatic cancer.

About FAP-Exd (AVA6103)

AVA6103 is the second clinical candidate and is the first asset in the pipeline based on the Next Generation innovative pre|CISION® controlled release mechanism that provides for prolonged release of payload directly in the tumor, minimizing systemic exposure. AVA6103 is being evaluated in the FOCUS-01 Phase 1 trial (FAP-Exd in Oncologic Cancers with Unmet needS). Preclinical data suggest this approach has optimized payload delivery with a high intratumoral concentration and prolonged exposure of released payload in the tumor, coupled with limited systemic exposure to the released payload.
