[Avacta Therapeutics (AIM: AVCT)](https://www.investegate.co.uk/announcement/rns/avacta-group--avct/to-present-pre-cision-dual-payload-candidate-/9856989) has announced plans to present its next-generation dual-payload cancer drug candidate AVA6207 at the 2026 EORTC-NCI-AACR Symposium in Barcelona, highlighting a new approach designed to overcome resistance to existing cancer treatments.

The presentation will take place on **19 November 2026**, during the 38th EORTC-NCI-AACR Symposium on Molecular Targets and Cancer Therapeutics, which runs from 18 to 20 November.

**AVA6207 uses Avacta’s proprietary pre|CISION technology to deliver two complementary anticancer drugs within a single peptide-drug conjugate**, targeting tumours through a mechanism activated by fibroblast activation protein (FAP).

The treatment combines a **topoisomerase I inhibitor (TOP1i) with an ATR kinase inhibitor (ATRi)**, designed to attack cancer cells through two complementary mechanisms.

The TOP1 inhibitor causes DNA damage within cancer cells, while the ATR inhibitor interferes with the cellular response responsible for repairing that damage.

**By combining both mechanisms in a single molecule, Avacta aims to prevent cancer cells from repairing treatment-induced DNA damage**, potentially improving activity against tumours that have developed resistance to existing TOP1-targeted therapies.

The company’s pre|CISION technology is designed to release drug payloads within the tumour microenvironment following cleavage by FAP, potentially reducing exposure to healthy tissues.

**Avacta believes the dual-payload approach could provide an advantage in treating highly resistant cancers**, where the effectiveness of conventional chemotherapy and targeted treatments can be limited by the ability of tumour cells to repair DNA damage.

However, **AVA6207 remains a development-stage drug candidate**, and its clinical effectiveness and safety have not yet been established in patients.

The upcoming presentation will provide further scientific information about the candidate’s design and mechanism of action.

**The poster, abstract number 161, will be presented during the DNA Repair Modulation session on Thursday, 19 November, between 09:00 and 17:30**, in the symposium’s exhibition hall.

The research is authored by Victoria Juskaite, Tom Clough, Ellen Watts, David Jones and colleagues.

**The announcement adds to Avacta’s expanding pre|CISION oncology pipeline**, which includes its lead candidate faridoxorubicin (AVA6000) and next-generation programme AVA6103.

The company’s wider development strategy focuses on delivering potent anticancer agents selectively within tumours, with the aim of improving therapeutic effectiveness while limiting systemic toxicity.

**For investors, AVA6207 represents a further potential application of Avacta’s pre|CISION platform**, extending its technology into dual-payload treatments designed to address drug resistance.

The scientific presentation will offer an opportunity to assess the rationale behind the combination and any supporting research data disclosed at the conference.

**Attention will now turn to the AVA6207 poster presentation on 19 November and further development updates across Avacta’s oncology pipeline**, as the company explores additional applications for its tumour-targeted drug delivery technology.
