The presence of ESR1, which is linked to a lower risk of cancer progression, and the absence of ERCC1, associated with higher disease progression, provided early predictors of patient outcomes.\n\nThe findings revealed that ESR1 was indicative of better progression-free survival, while ERCC1 suggested a greater risk of cancer progression.\n\nThis research, the most extensive of its type on ovarian cancer to date, was carried out by the Medical University of Vienna as part of the European GANNET53 Phase II clinical trial.
