[Amaroq Ltd (LON: AMRQ; Nasdaq Iceland: AMRQ; OTCQX: AMRQF)](https://www.investegate.co.uk/announcement/rns/amaroq-ltd---amrq/maarmorilik-development-2026-exploration-results/9851728) has reported high-grade zinc, lead and silver exploration results from its Maarmorilik project in West Greenland, including samples containing up to 62.2% zinc, as the company introduces a new development strategy centred on the historic Black Angel mine and surrounding mineral deposits.

The company’s **2026 exploration programme identified additional high-grade mineralisation across several targets**, including the strategically important metals germanium and gallium, strengthening the case for further resource expansion drilling in 2027.

Amaroq has also submitted **Project Terms of Reference to the Government of Greenland**, representing an important step in the environmental and social assessment process required to advance Maarmorilik towards potential mining approval.

**The company’s new ‘String of Pearls’ development strategy aims to combine the historic Black Angel and Nunngarut ore bodies with nearby mineralised deposits**, creating a coordinated mining operation that could benefit from existing infrastructure.

Several of the surrounding deposits have become more accessible following the retreat of ice cover, while renewed exploration has identified additional mineralised zones.

**The Garde prospect delivered some of the strongest results**, including a channel sample of **3.1 metres grading 17.49% zinc, 8.08% lead and 36 grams per tonne silver**.

The same interval also contained **159.2 parts per million gallium and 107.5ppm germanium**, adding potential critical mineral exposure to the project’s principal base metal targets.

Further rock-chip sampling at Garde returned grades of **up to 62.2% zinc**, alongside 261ppm gallium.

**At Wedge, channel sampling returned 4.1 metres grading 10.05% zinc**, with additional rock-chip samples identifying zinc grades of up to 26.8% and gallium concentrations reaching 517ppm.

Other targets also delivered encouraging results.

**Glacier returned rock-chip grades of up to 32.2% zinc, 9.1% lead and 59g/t silver**, together with germanium concentrations of up to 241ppm.

At Myers, sampling identified **up to 30.6% zinc and 11.1% lead**, supporting the potential for additional mineralised zones across the wider project area.

**Geological mapping identified massive lead-zinc sulphide mineralisation extending approximately 350 metres at Garde and 180 metres at Wedge.**

Both targets remain open at surface and have been prioritised for resource drilling during 2027.

Amaroq believes the results support the possibility of additional mineralisation extending beneath the surface, particularly where structural interpretation suggests thicker sulphide zones could occur at depth.

**Drilling equipment has already been transported to the project and stored on site**, allowing preparations to advance ahead of the planned 2027 exploration campaign.

The programme will focus on defining additional resources around the historic mine workings while investigating the potential of newly identified deposits.

**Chief Executive Eldur Olafsson** said the development strategy was designed to maximise the value of the existing mineral resource while incorporating additional discoveries into a coordinated mining plan.

He highlighted the potential benefits of using established infrastructure at Maarmorilik, where the historic Black Angel mine provides a foundation for renewed development.

**Amaroq acquired its West Greenland Hub assets for US$10.5 million in 2025**, with the company subsequently working to establish an economically attractive development strategy for the district.

The approach is intended to support successive sources of mineralised material, potentially allowing different deposits to contribute to a wider mining operation as exploration and engineering work progresses.

**The company is also reviewing Maarmorilik’s historical Mineral Resource Estimate of 3.7 million tonnes**, alongside approximately **700,000 tonnes of additional historically identified mineralised material**.

Consultant WSP is undertaking work towards an updated resource estimate compliant with **NI 43-101 reporting standards**, while also assessing a separate Exploration Target to guide future drilling.

The additional historical material is not yet confirmed as part of an updated compliant resource and will require further geological verification.

**Project Manager Will Gray** described the exploration results as encouraging, particularly the exceptionally high zinc and lead grades recorded in selected samples.

He noted that the results supported further investigation of the district’s mineralisation, while acknowledging that exploration samples cannot be directly compared with the average grades achieved at producing mines.

**The company submitted its Project Terms of Reference to the Government of Greenland on 30 October 2026**, initiating an important stage of the permitting process.

The documentation will support the planned **Environmental Impact Assessment and Social Impact Assessment**, including government review and public consultation before the final terms are approved.

Environmental baseline surveys commenced during 2026, with WSP Denmark supporting the assessment programme.

**The potential recovery of germanium and gallium could provide an additional strategic dimension to Maarmorilik**, particularly given the importance of these materials in electronics, semiconductors and other advanced technologies.

However, the company has not yet established whether these elements can be recovered economically into saleable products.

Similarly, **the reported 62.2% zinc grade comes from selective rock-chip sampling**, which may not represent the average grade or continuity of mineralisation across the wider deposit.

The channel sample lengths also do not necessarily represent true mineralised widths, meaning additional drilling and geological assessment will be required.

**For investors, the latest results highlight the potential for Amaroq to expand the known mineralisation around the historic Black Angel mine**, while advancing a development strategy that seeks to combine multiple high-grade deposits with existing infrastructure.

The permitting submission and mobilisation of drilling equipment represent further progress, although the project remains subject to resource verification, technical studies, environmental approvals and financing.

**Attention will now turn to the 2027 resource drilling programme, the updated Maarmorilik Mineral Resource Estimate and progress through Greenland’s environmental and social assessment process**, as Amaroq works towards establishing a broader, multi-asset mining operation in Greenland.
