Tekcapital plc (AIM: TEK) portfolio company Guident has signed a 36-month commercial agreement with Coastal Waste & Recycling to deploy autonomous inspection robots and AI-powered safety monitoring technology across the waste and recycling operator’s facilities.
The agreement expands the companies’ existing relationship and will see Guident deploy its WatchBot autonomous inspection robots, AI software platform and ongoing operational support.
The system will carry out autonomous facility patrols and inspections, providing capabilities including thermal monitoring, early fire detection on loaded trucks, asset-damage detection, PPE compliance monitoring and tank-cage inspections.
Coastal operates more than 40 locations across Florida, Georgia and South Carolina, providing Guident with an opportunity to demonstrate its technology across a substantial commercial operating environment.
Tekcapital described the agreement as further evidence that Guident is progressing from pilot deployments towards long-term commercial contracts, with the company targeting revenue growth across mobility, robotics and public transportation.
Guident raised US$2 million in May 2026 and continues to work towards a proposed public listing during 2026.
Tekcapital currently owns approximately 70% of Guident’s common stock and also holds US$5 million of loan-note receivables that can be converted into Guident shares at its election.
