Flights departing and arriving in the UK are currently grounded due to an air traffic control complication, leading to the temporary closure of UK airspace.
The national air traffic control body, NATS, commented, “We’re addressing a technical glitch and have put traffic flow measures in place to ensure safety. Our technical team is diligently working on identifying and rectifying the issue.
“We deeply regret the inconvenience this may bring.”
Easyjet informed its passengers that the ongoing issue is impacting all flights scheduled to depart from or land in the UK.
In a notification to travellers, the airline stated: “We’ve been alerted to an air traffic control complication affecting all flights linked with the UK airspace.
“We’re in touch with the concerned authorities to gauge the extent of this situation and the expected time for regular operations to restart.
“For those already seated on our planes awaiting departure, our flight crew will provide updates. If you’re at one of our terminals, please stay updated using the flight information displays.”
Easyjet further noted, “While this disruption is beyond our direct influence, we genuinely apologize for any disturbances to your journey today.
