The company holds operator exploration interests onshore Alaska, and non-operator interests onshore Texas. 88E has operated on the North Slope of Alaska, since 2015. It has successfully drilled multiple exploration wells as well as acquired extensive seismic data over a large acreage. 88 Energy Ltd. has told investors that it is busy with its Alaskan North Slope Portfolio, despite the fact that the explorer’s focus remains “firmly” centered on the upcoming Hickory-1 well test. In its Thursday project update , the company highlights that the Hickory-1 will be flow-tested in the first quarter 2024. Ashley Gilbert, managing director of the company, said: “Building on Hickory-1’s drilling success we are reevaluating the Icewine West neighbouring potential taking into account lessons learned from Hickory-1 as well as recent near-field results by other operators.” We also continue to progress Project Leonis in order to prepare a first prospective resource estimation ahead of the targeted farm-out planned for next year, and possible drilling of a well early during winter 2025/26. 88 Energy Ltd.,, informed investors that it is continuing to prepare for the planned flow test of the Hickory-1 oil well in Alaska. In a statement the company said that permitting and planning are “on schedule”. The company also stated that operations will begin “as soon as possible” during the Alaskan winter in the first quarter 2024. 88 Energy Ltd. has informed investors that it has executed a contract for the well testing of Hickory-1 at Project Phoenix. Hickory-1, a drill hole drilled in the first half of this year, was designed to target oil prospects estimated at 647 million barrels. It encountered several hydrocarbon-bearing zones that will be tested. According to a Cavendish research note, the Upper Slope Fan System in 88 Energy Ltd’s Project Phoenix is larger than originally mapped. Corporate broker: The new mapping, which extends to over four miles, correlates with a strong oil potential as demonstrated by the Icewine-1 Well.
