The Management Team of Ortac Resources (LON:OTC) , Executive Chairman Anthony Balme and CEO Vassillios Carellas make their debut in this episode of The MiningMaven Podcast.
Ortac’s flagship project is their Sturec Gold project in Slovakia with a JORC compliant Au equivalent resource of 1.32 Moz, with 1,1Moz in the Measured & Indicated category. The project has had a positive Preliminary Feasibility Study (PFS) carried out by SRK, so altogether its quite advanced. The company also has investments in Eritrea, Zambia and DRC.
In the Podcast we take an in depth look at the Company’s investment proposition with Anthony and Vassilios. We hope you enjoy listening.
MiningMaven View: Although Ortac has been known to MiningMaven for quite some time, we have not looked closely at the Company or its investment proposition until now.
In recent times, the Company had been known to be struggling in Slovakia with local opposition to the development of Sturec. However it now seems that sentiment on the ground may have started to turn; mainly due to an improving gold price swaying the argument in favour of the hope of local jobs and an economic revival for this historic mining region. Should this be the case then Sturec should be able to see its way through to the next stage of mine development, being the environmental permitting phase.
Ortac’s current market cap is around £1.7m and for that you get the Strurec gold mine project with its 1.32Moz Jorc resource (1.1Moz Measured & Indicated) and a completed positive PFS. Plus some other interesting investment stakes in projects in DRC, Eritrea, Zambia as a bonus.
We think it looks cheap and a good example of the kind of opportunities out there at this stage in the cycle. It will be interesting to look back at Ortac in December to see how right we were!
